Software system including Longitude and EDS programs is distributed as one package, initially operating in demo mode. To work with other versions (modes) of the program a license is required (permission to use the program), which can be provided on a commercial or non-commercial basis.  

Software license gives the user a right to own and use one copy of the program. This license does not explicitly or implicitly include the right of ownership and use of psycho-diagnostic methods, for processing and storage of which the program can be used. These psycho-diagnostic methods can be obtained by purchasing the publications of the authors, laboratory courses, and products of psychological instrument companies or from other open or commercial sources. A full text of the license is provided during program installation, and the installation process can be completed only upon complete agreement to the license terms.

The developers are interested in cooperation with expert users, who are capable of assisting in system development, standardization of methods and acquisition of expert system knowledge database. Therefore software is distributed according to several work schemes, based on different degree of users’ participation in team work. All these schemes have been successfully implemented and the users can switch to a different scheme if there are any changes in the situation.

1. Free transfer of a 3-months license to course participants. To obtain this license one has to participate in regular seminar-cum-workshop based in SPbSU (for more information please refer to our Education page or contact by tel. /fax +7 812 327-46-14).

2. Free license transfer according to a Cooperation Agreement (for data collection, conducting surveys or a study course). For example, it is possible to conclude an agreement on data collection on an age range essential for standardization of diagnostic methods. In this case the user shall collect a required amount of data on agreed age ranges.
Researchers and lecturers, students and graduate students who are interested in using the system for study purposes or for teaching relevant courses are offered a temporary license on the terms of a Cooperation Agreement.

3. Payment of 70% of license cost (temporary and later perpetual). In this case we conclude a Cooperation Agreement, under which the user shall regularly transfer us information on noticed program errors, proposals on system development and stored data (without personal information which can be automatically deleted when the database is prepared for sending). For this purpose the user shall collect a required amount of data on those groups of respondents which are specified in the Agreement and which are required for continued development and standardization of the system. For example for further elaboration of Developmental Scale the most currently needed age ranges are from 2 months to 18 months and from 7 to 9 yeas of age. In exchange for assistance in data collection on these age ranges the user receives a temporary license for 70% of its cost. After fulfilling the terms of the agreement the user can make additional payment and purchase a perpetual license at the same discount rate. There are other possible ways of cooperation under the same terms, for example, preparation of textual and graphic materials for recommendations based on conclusions of “Individual follow-up chart”.

Note. The above mentioned discount rates do not cover the cost of additional accessories, purchased according to need (stimulus materials, CD, electronic key in case of selecting a corresponding means of protection, etc.).

4. Payment of full license cost (temporary or perpetual) without any additional obligations on the part of the user. In this case there is a possibility for successive payment for temporary licenses when sums paid are taken in payment for a perpetual license. This will allow you to start working with the system without bearing heavy expenses on its purchasing. Later on you can decide on the extent to which you need this program in your work, and if the software proves to be useful you can make additional payment required for purchasing a perpetual license.

Commercial distribution of the program is carried out by the publishing house of research and educational literature and software under the contract with the authors. The price-list includes both standard packages Longitude B and Longitude+ and their components, which allows non-standard configuration of the program set. Payment is received on account; to order an invoice or pay slip, please contact the developers or use contact data from a price-list.

1. Order configuration
First of all specify software version – Longitude B (pre-school) or Longitude+ (extended). Additional units and other elements of the order can be selected according to the price-list of a publishing house. This can be a full package or a reduced package, due to excluding some unessential elements or reducing license period (with a possibility for further additional payment up to sum of the perpetual license).

If you need to purchase a license for more than one user or more than one license, please specify how many and what type do you need (it can be additional users within the same license or separate licenses for the same or several different organizations, or additional standard sets with separate licenses). Discount is calculated depending on that information (more details on discounts can be found in price-list).

 

• For payment by bank transfer – bank details of your organization, which we specify in the invoice according to the requirements of your accounting department (full name, address and other data). If the invoice has to be sent by fax or regular mail, please specify your fax number and full postal address.If besides the invoice we also need to make an agreement, specification or other additional documents, please indicate that (and, if possible, send us templates or first drafts to be completed for submission to your accounting department).
• For cash payment in a bank using a pay slip (if this is more convenient and acceptable for your accounting department, as in this case no invoice or invoice-facture are issued) – please indicate that, and we will send you a pay slip for Sberbank or any other bank (similar to pay slips for utility services).

• Full postal address and full name of the parcel recipient. On receiving your payment an insured parcel will be shipped, containing ordered software package and originals of payment documents (in case of non-cash (account) payment – an invoice, and, if necessary, an agreement or any other documents according to your accounting demands).
• If this is more convenient, the order can be collected in person at the Faculty of Psychology of St. Petersburg State University. In this case the time of delivery should be confirmed by e-mail or by phone.

Distribution details for EDS basic (student) version

1.     EDS B (basic or student version of EDS) is distributed as a teaching aid (laboratory course), developed by authors’ team of the Faculty of Psychology of St. Petersburg State University and other institutions. All legal aspects of EDS B distribution are similar to those of other laboratory courses, lecture books and other resource materials, created by authors on their own initiative and distributed by the authors via various publishing houses or in the Internet.

2.    EDS B licenses are not distributed on commercial basis and are provided free of charge to course participants of psychological and educational universities, graduate and doctoral students only for conducting study courses and qualification research. Technical details on distribution of current version of EDS B (including an open installation code) can be found on program website: www. eds.pu.ru. The developers do not bear any responsibilities regarding technical and content follow-up for program version distributed free of charge, unless it is pointed out directly in the corresponding agreement with the university, where the program user studies.

3.     Additional printed (stimulus) materials, special computer equipment and additional software (methods, service functions) are distributed by authors and developers on commercial basis through corresponding publishing houses. Theses materials can be connected as an addition to the basic version or are included into an extended version EDS+ under the agreement with the developers of relevant additional EDS units. On the same terms it is possible to develop specific methods with unique requirements to stimulus presentation and data processing for conducting dissertation and other type of research.
